Frequently Asked Questions - FAQs

Not really. Whilst we do make and sell fine acoustic guitars and do repairs and setups, we are more of a guitar workshop than a shop. So services and trying-out our guitars are offered by appointment. Just contacting us here.
-
Most straightforward repairs and setups are usually completed in a few days. Simply drop off the guitar, agree what needs to be done, how much it will cost and leave it with me. I will then text or WhatsApp you when the guitar is ready for collection.
-
Yes I do repairs and setups on electrics, basses and acoustics. However I only build acoustic guitars. I do not currently work on 12-string acoustics.
-
In the first place get in touch by emailing me from the contact page on this website. Give me an idea of the work you think needs doing and if necessary send a couple of photos. I will then give you an estimate. If you like the estimate we arrange a time to drop-off the guitar and at that point, once I’ve seen the guitar up close I will confirm the quote before any work starts.
The website gives a guideline on the most common types of work we do.

We stock things like strings, nuts and saddles that are commonly used in the course of repairs and setups but don’t really stock a broader range of products or parts. For more specific repairs any parts will usually need to be ordered in which may affect the timings.
-
Yes if you already have a new set of preferred strings that you would like to be fitted as part of the setup or repair just bring them along.
Strings get worn out and dirty in the normal course of playing so it’s a good idea to refresh them every so often.
If you don’t have a new set of strings we can supply them.
-
Yes we fix and set-up ukuleles too. The mechanics are the same as an acoustic guitar in miniature.
