At Lutra Guitars, we offer expert guitar setup services that bring the best out of your instrument. Whether you're dealing with high action, fret buzz, or tuning issues, a professional guitar set-up can transform your playing experience.
All setup work is carried out by a trained luthier in our dedicated Maidenhead workshop, serving guitarists across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, and the Thames Valley.

Recommended if your frets are uneven, buzzing, or worn flat.

Full Standard Setup
Fret level, crown, and polish
Fretboard reconditioned
Truss rod adjustment if required
Nut and saddle height rechecked post-dressing
Restring + Clean from £35 + strings
String install, stretch strings and tune to pitch
Basic service to refresh your guitar:
Fit new strings (customer supplies or add cost of preferred set)

Most acoustic guitar setups are completed within 3–5 working days. We'll provide a precise time estimate when you drop off your instrument.
Strings are not included in the setup prices. You can supply your own or purchase a set through us.
Prices are calculated at a bench rate of £60 per hour with a minimum charge of £30.
Acoustic, electric guitars and basses only – we do not currently offer setup services for 12 string guitars.
Excessively worn frets, cracked nuts/saddles, or structural issues may require additional work (see Repairs section below).
